2-Factor authentication settings

2-Factor authentication settings

To increase the protection factor, you can force the use of a 2-FA in idgard®. Changes at this point are only effective for newly created users. To make this setting, you need the permission of an Administrator.

  1. Open the Administration menu
  2. Open the 3-dot menu in the green bar in the upper right
  3. Click on Enterprise settings
  4. Go to the "2-factor authentication settings" field
Standard 2-factor authentication method:

In the selection field you can set the default authentication method when creating a new user. This does not force the corresponding method, but only offers it first when a new user is created. Of course, the method can be changed. Following methods are available: SMS pass code and DUO.

2-factor authentication at login:

When a user is created, a 2-factor authentication for the login is forced. Without the assignment of a 2-FA method, the user cannot be created. If you want the SMS pass code method to be used for users, you must first purchase this it.

2-factor authentication when inviting new users:

When the user is created, they must enter a SMS pass code which is sent to them once during registration. It is not necessary to purchase SMS for this. This selection is mandatory for the user.

Forcing a 2-factor authentication for Box access:

You can use this option to force additional security via SMS pass code, for example, if you give read access to a Box to a person outside of your account by sharing an existing Box or using the BoxMail function.

 Save your setting.
