Assigning a classification | idgard®

Assigning a classification

This function is only included in the Enterprise package. The "Document classification" function must first be activated by the administrator. Each full license user of a data room who has write/upload permission can assign one of the classes specified in the Administration to any file. You can also classify image and videos. This function is not available in PrivacyBoxes. Users with a guest license cannot classify documents, nor can they see the classification of files. A classified document can still be moved, downloaded, renamed, locked/unlocked, or marked as read/unread, depending on the user's permissions. The classification of an already uploaded file can be changed at any time by the creator or administrator of the data room.

Operations related to document classification are recorded in the journal. These include:
- Changing the classification,
- Assigning the classification,
- uploading a file without classification but with the default value.

Proceed as follows:
  1. Open the data room.
  2. Click on the "+" symbol in the green bar.
  3. Select "Upload files (advanced)”.
  4. Select the desired classification.
If you upload a document in the quick upload mode, it will be assigned the default class.

As a user with a full license and the right to read and write, it is only possible to change the classification of your own file.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the 3-dot menu on the right side of the file line.
  2. Select the "Classify" function.
  3. Give the document one of the offered classes.
  4. Complete the process by clicking on "Classify".
