Creating user groups for extended rights management

Creating user groups for extended rights management

Extended rights management is available in the Enterprise package.  Advanced rights management is used to assign permissions to the contents of a folder or file to groups of users.
There are 2 methods to create user groups for the extended rights management. Firstly, the user group can be created directly in the ERM area. On the other hand, user groups that are created in the administration can also be made available for the ERM.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the 3-dot menu in the toolbar at the top right.
  2. Open the "Box settings" of a data room.
  3. Open the "ERM" tab.
  4. Click on the "Create new group" button.
  5. Give the group a name.
  6. If inheritance is turned on, this means that permissions must be revoked per object where they should not exist. If desired, you can turn this feature off. With inheritance turned off, the user group in question must be assigned to each object individually. Objects can be folders or files.

Save your entries.

The created group appears at the bottom of the list.
