Define the password criteria

Define the password criteria

Only strong passwords provide sufficient protection. Enforcing appropriate password rules prevents them from being easily guessed and / or prevents revealed passwords from being valid beyond a limited period of time. Depending on the settings you have chosen, the affected users will receive a corresponding notice in the login screen. If according to your settings a change of the password is necessary, the users of your idgard® account will receive an email with the request to change the password. To make this setting you need the authorization of an administrator. Here you can influence the password strength, force periodic password changes and set the minimum length of a password.

Proceed as follows:

  • Open the "Administration" menu.
  • Open the 3-dot menu in the green bar in the upper right
  • Click on "Enterprise settings"
  • Open the  "Access protection" tap.
  • Scroll down to "Additional password policy"
  • Activate the desired Checkbox.
  • Define the desired password criteria.

Save your settings.

If a password does not meet the criteria when a user registers, it will be displayed in the registration screen.
