idgard® app for Microsoft Teams: Create PrivacyBoxes

PrivacyBoxes in Microsoft Teams

Just like in the idgard® web app, only full license users can create PrivacyBoxes. You add users to this Box and make them a member of the PrivacyBox. A PrivacyBox will continue to exist until this Box is deleted by the owner. If you have a full license and cannot create a PrivacyBox, this means that you do not have the required permission. Please contact the administrator to get this permission. These permissions can only be assigned in the idgard® web app. A PrivacyBox is indicated by the “Box icon”   in front of the Box name.

Proceed as follows:

  • Log in to the idgard® app for Microsoft Teams.
  • Click on “Add new Box.”
  • Under Box type, select “PrivacyBox.”
  • Click on “Next.”
  • Enter the Box name. The name must not contain more than 64 characters. It must not end with a dot. The PrivacyBox name must not contain the following characters: /, \, ? ,* ,:, >,|,$
  • Optionally, you can add a description to the Box.
  • Optionally, you can select the following Box properties: “Backup active,” “Recycle bin,” or “Limit access period.” You can change these features later.
  • Click on “Next” again.
  • Optionally, you can preset permissions for new Box members. You can change the preset permissions at any time.
  • Click on “Create Box.”

The new PrivacyBox is now displayed on the homepage.
