idgard® app for Microsoft Teams: Share Boxes via message extension

Sharing Boxes via message extension

The message extension feature allows users of the idgard® app for Microsoft Teams to exchange links in chat channels. It makes it possible to share a Box via a Box link in a chat channel with other group participants in Teams. This can be done via a general chat channel or a chat channel within an active meeting. However, this requires that the idgard® app has been assigned to a group in Teams. You must also be a full license user and have permission to share a Box. Please contact the administrator of your idgard® account if you do not have the required permission.

Proceed as follows:

  • Start a new conversation.
  • Click on the 3-dot menu and open “Messaging extensions.”
  • Add the idgard® app for Microsoft Teams.
  • Select “Share Box link.”
  • The Boxes from the homepage of your idgard® app are now displayed.
  • Select a Box using the check box or search for a Box using the search field. For the search, enter at least 3 consecutive characters.
  • Click on “Box link settings.” Define the number of accesses. To finish the process, click on “Save settings.”
  • Click on “Copy Box link to chat” to include the link in the chat.
  • The Box link is added to your message. If needed, you can add additional information and then send the message.
  • The Box link is now displayed in the chat to the users who are participating in your communication. When clicking on the link, users are directed to the login screen in the browser.
If you have Microsoft Teams installed on your smartphone, you can also access the box link there in the chat channel.
