idgard® app for Microsoft Teams: Share files via message extension
Share files
Message extensions
allow users of the idgard® app for Microsoft Teams to share files via a link in
a chat channel with other group participants in Teams. This can be done via a
general chat channel or a chat channel within an active meeting.
Proceed as follows:
- Start a new conversation.
- Click on the 3-dot menu and open “Messaging extensions.”
- Add the idgard® app for Microsoft
Teams.
- Then click on “Share file link.”
- Use the search field to search for
the respective file. For the search, enter at least 3 consecutive
characters. This is a cross-Box search.
- Click on “Send file link” to include
the link in the chat.
- The file link is added to your
message. If needed, you can add additional information and then send the
message.
- The file link is now displayed in
the chat to the users who are participating in your communication.
- When clicking on the link, users are
directed to the idgard® login screen in
the browser. If you log in there, you are taken to the storage location of
the file.
If you have Microsoft Teams installed on your smartphone, you can also access the file link there in the chat channel.
