Reporting illegal content

Reporting illegal content

The Digital Services Act (DSA) is an important tool for reporting problematic or harmful content in the digital space. It allows users to report potential violations of the DSA, helping to create a safer and more responsible online environment. Here is a guide on when and why you should use the report form for content in idgard:

1. When should you use the report form?

Illegal content: When you discover content that violates applicable law, such as hate speech, terrorist propaganda, child pornography or the distribution of counterfeit goods.

Hurtful or harmful content: If you find content that could harass, threaten, bully or otherwise harm other people.

Violations of the terms of use: If you find content that violates idgard's terms of use, in particular the dissemination of content that contains offenses against sexual self-determination, conspiracy or incitement to violence, infringement of intellectual property rights, fraudulent acts, defamation, insults, computer crimes.

2. Why should you use the report form?

Community protection: Reporting problematic content helps protecting idgard from harmful or illegal content and creates a safer environment for all users.

Compliance with legal requirements: The DSA sets certain standards and obligations. By reporting violations, you help maintain these standards and promote compliance with the law.

3. How to use the reporting form?

Navigate to:  https://www.idgard.com/about/compliance/action-mechanism/

Fill in the form: You have a fundamental right to report anonymously. You do not have to provide your name and e-mail address if the information is assumed to relate to an offense referred to in Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU (e.g: Offenses related to sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of children, offenses related to child pornography or contacting children for sexual purposes).

However, we would ask you to provide your name and e-mail address in all other cases so that we can respond to your request.

Since we, as the operator of idgard, do not have access to the content in your data rooms, we ask you to fill in the following fields to identify the storage location:

·        Box ID

·        Box owner ID

·        Customer ID

This information is transmitted by us to the administrator of the respective idgard account and helps him to search for the respective box and the illegal content located there. Further processing and evaluation of the content is the responsibility of the administrator of the respective idgard account. Your personal data will not be passed on to the administrator.

You find the information to identify the storage location in the respective idgard box under “Setting the box” (three dots menu on the top right).

Send the message: After you have completed the notification form, send it. You will then receive a confirmation that your report has been received and more information about the next steps.

By using the DSA reporting form responsibly, you can actively contribute to promoting the security and integrity of idgard.
