What are the restrictions for filenames, folder names and dataroom names?
The following restrictions apply to filenames, folder names and dataroom names in idgard:
- Characters not allowed: *, /, \, ?, :, <, >, ^, ", &, |
- Names must not end with a dot.
This restriction exists because Windows does not support folder names ending with a period.- Names must not be empty.
- Not allowed names: CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9 and control characters in the range \x00 to \x1F like carriage return, line feed etc. ( --> all combinations of upper and lower case).

This restriction exists because these names are reserved in Windows as internal device names and therefore cannot be used for folder and file names.
- Maximum length of file name and folder: 1024 characters
