Upload files and folders

If you are in a box, you can simply drag and drop files or folders to upload their contents and file structure. To do this, you need to have the appropriate permissions for the activity in the box. Empty folders will also be uploaded. The status of each individual file is displayed during the upload.

Notes
To Firefox users: To include empty subfolders with your upload, use Drag & Drop, or switch your web browser to Edge or Chrome.
How to upload files and folders:
  1. Select the box to which you want to upload folders or files. If necessary, navigate to the desired folder.
  2. Select the plus symbol in the toolbar.
  3. Select Upload.
    The Upload dialog appears.
  4. Navigate to the files or folders you want to add and insert them using drag & drop.

  5. Alternatively, select Select items and select the desired files and folders from your file system.
  6. Optional: If you only want to upload the contents of the folder, activate the Upload without creating a parent folder checkbox.
  7. In this case, the parent folder is not uploaded.
  8. Select one of the following options for handling duplicate files:

    Option

    Description

Skip file / Do not upload file

A file is uploaded and renamed if another file with the same file name already exists in the target folder.

    Rename file and upload

A file is not uploaded if another file with the same file name and extension already exists in the destination folder.

  9. Select Start upload.
The files are uploaded to the box and, if applicable, the folder. Filters allow you to quickly review the status of individual files. You can also close the upload window and continue working while the upload runs in the background. Your report will be available in the side navigation under Upload completed for the duration of your idgard session.
  10. To close the dialog, select X in the top right corner.
